What this actually is

Planned around access, not a list.

Where to
Journey

Desert travel is about two hours a day: the hour after sunrise and the hour before dark. We build everything else around those, with air-conditioned distance in between and a camp that belongs to you rather than a coach party.

Thar, Wahiba, Wadi Rum and the Sahara each behave differently. We match the dunes to your month, because the difference between February and May out there is the difference between magic and misery.

Signature moments

The three things guests remember.

A camp of your own

Set up in the afternoon, struck the next morning, and nobody else within sight of it.

Music after dinner

Manganiar in Rajasthan, Bedouin oud in Wadi Rum — musicians, not a floor show.

Dunes before breakfast

Out in the cold blue light when the sand still holds last night's tracks.

When to go

The months that work.

Honest notes

April to June is genuinely punishing in most deserts. We will tell you to move your dates rather than sell you the trip.

Nights are cold. People pack for heat and regret it.

The silence was so complete that we could hear the fire from thirty feet away.

Before you enquire

What guests ask.

Ours are: proper beds, plumbed bathrooms, generators kept far enough away to be inaudible.

Two. One is a photograph, three is usually one too many.

Very, from about six. Dunes do most of the entertaining.

Ready when you are

Let's plan
something real.

Once-in-a-lifetime, or a long quiet weekend. Tell us what you're picturing — the first conversation is on us.
