Singapore.

Singapore rewards a closer look: shophouse streets, serious food and tropical gardens, with space left between the reservations.

Why Singapore

What it feels like
when it's planned well.

SoloCoupleFamilyMulti-generationalFriendsBalanced pace

Singapore is compact, but its neighbourhoods deserve more than a stopover. Tiong Bahru’s low-rise streets, the conserved houses around Joo Chiat and the market kitchens of Little India offer different readings of the city. Alongside them sit the National Gallery, ambitious restaurants and gardens that make the tropical climate part of the experience. We suggest five or six nights, rather than compressing everything into a hurried weekend.

We plan around your interests and the weather: early walks, private transfers when useful, properly spaced restaurant bookings and afternoons with room to retreat indoors. Families might add Mandai and Sentosa; repeat visitors could spend longer on architecture, Peranakan history and food. The caveat is cost: Singapore’s better rooms and restaurants are expensive, and rain is possible in every month. Indicative private arrangements start at INR 225,000 per person, with flights quoted separately.

Highlights

Three things you'd remember.

Joo Chiat and Katong

Joo Chiat and Katong

Explore Peranakan domestic architecture and food traditions with a guide, then stay for laksa. The colourful houses on Koon Seng Road are private homes, not visitor attractions.

Art inside civic history

Art inside civic history

The National Gallery occupies the former City Hall and Supreme Court. Its Southeast Asian collections warrant an unhurried visit, rather than a brief architectural stop.

Gardens at two scales

Gardens at two scales

Pair the Singapore Botanic Gardens and National Orchid Garden with Gardens by the Bay: one a mature tropical landscape, the other an exercise in engineered horticulture.

A shape to start from

The itinerary, before we change it for you.

Every trip we send is rewritten at least once. Treat this as a rhythm rather than a route — then tell your specialist what to cut, slow down or add.

  1. Days 1–2

Arrival, the civic district and Marina Bay

Settle in before an evening walk by the Singapore River. Spend the next morning at the National Gallery, with lunch nearby and an afternoon rest. Visit Gardens by the Bay towards evening, reserving conservatory entry ahead.

  2. Days 3–4

Katong, Little India and the Botanic Gardens

Walk Joo Chiat and Katong with a cultural guide, then leave time for the Peranakan Museum. The following day begins in the Botanic Gardens before the heat builds; explore Little India and Tekka Centre later, with food stops shaped around dietary preferences.

  3. Days 5–6

Mandai or Sentosa, then a slower city day

Choose a focused Mandai wildlife-park visit or a day on Sentosa rather than attempting both. Keep the final full day for Tiong Bahru, independent shops and a reserved dinner. Families can exchange this for another attraction day, allowing for queues and afternoon showers.

  4. Day 7

    Departure through Changi

Transfer to Changi with time appropriate to your flight. If visiting Jewel, allow extra time before immigration: it is landside, and its attractions have separate opening hours and admission arrangements.

  5. Planning note

    Adjust the length

For five nights, remove the slower city day and select just one main excursion beyond the central neighbourhoods.

Orchard Garden Residence

A planning placeholder for a larger suite or serviced apartment, useful for families. Licensed serviced apartments generally require at least a seven-day stay; shorter visits need hotel accommodation.

A planning placeholder for a villa within a licensed resort, not a private residential rental. More space and leisure facilities, but longer journeys to the city’s museums and neighbourhoods.

Access & experiences

What we can open for you.

A hawker meal with context

Visit Chinatown Complex or Tekka Centre with a food guide who can explain regional dishes and ordering customs. Seating is communal, queues are part of the meal, and individual stalls keep their own hours.

Peranakan collections and streets

Connect the Peranakan Museum’s objects and family histories with a separate walk through Katong. Museum galleries and a living residential district tell complementary stories.

Pulau Ubin by bicycle

Take a bumboat from Changi Point for a more rustic day of cycling. Departures depend on passenger numbers and conditions; bicycles are basic, paths can be uneven, and heat makes an early start sensible.

A considered restaurant programme

Balance one or two ambitious dinners with hawker lunches and neighbourhood restaurants. We check reservation windows and cancellation terms rather than filling every evening with a tasting menu.

Good to know

Visa
Indian ordinary-passport holders generally require a Singapore entry visa, arranged through an authorised route. Allow processing time and check current ICA requirements. A visa does not guarantee entry; passports should have at least six months’ validity.
Arrival formalities
Submit the free SG Arrival Card through the official ICA website or app within three days, including the day of arrival. It is not a visa.
Getting around
The MRT is efficient and air-conditioned; taxis and Grab are useful in rain or with children. We use private transfers selectively. Child seats should be requested and confirmed in advance.
Pace
Plan outdoor visits early and reserve the hottest part of the day for museums, lunch or a rest. Sentosa and Mandai each warrant a substantial part of a day.
Weather
Hot and humid throughout the year. February to April is often a useful window, with February relatively dry; November to January is generally wetter. The listed shoulder months are alternatives, not reliably cheaper or dry seasons. Major events, particularly the Formula 1 weekend, can sharply raise room rates.
Give Singapore fewer appointments and more time between them; the neighbourhoods are as important as the headline sights.

Singapore questions

Asked often.

It is an indicative per-person budget for a five-night private trip based on two adults sharing, with luxury accommodation, airport transfers, selected guiding and agreed admissions. International flights, most meals and personal spending are additional. Dates and room category materially affect the final quote.

Yes. Short distances, good healthcare and extensive step-free infrastructure help, though outdoor heat and large attraction sites still require care. We prioritise suitable rooms, accessible routing and fewer hotel changes.

Vegetarian food is widely available, particularly around Little India. Jain requirements need advance discussion with individual kitchens. Hawker stalls may use shared equipment, stocks or sauces containing animal ingredients, so strict requirements cannot be assumed.

Choose the city for restaurants, museums and neighbourhood walks. Sentosa suits families wanting resort facilities and attraction time, but adds travel to central sightseeing. On a five-night trip, one base is usually easier than a split stay.
